There is a prize involved.<BR/><BR/>Whereas "experts" in housing or financial markets have motivation to paint a rosey picture.<BR/><BR/>So they pick their "facts" and go out and find statistics to support them.<BR/><BR/>I have no doubt that most "experts" knew full well that there was going to be a problem.
