Care and Feeding of My Obsession

There is soo much information on the Internet.......the major limitation in my life is time.

I have been attempting to keep my obsession in check by limiting my blog habit the local Sacramento sites......but based on several recommendations, I recently started following Calculated Risk. Wow, amazing stuff....CR and Tanta wrap up all my favorite things, economics, housing, tons of data, and current events!

Anyways, are there other gems out there like Calculated Risk that offer insight and analysis? If so let me know (new aggregation doesn't count).

Aside from CR, I could recommend "The Big Picture", Mish's blog, and Dean Baker's "Beat the Press".

My daily dose sites are Ben's Housing blog (although I seldom have time to read the comments), Calculated Risk (smae lack of time), Lander's blog, and Etsy (I'm an addict).

With budget cuts coming, I'm going to have even less time to read >; (

Calculated Risk is an awesome blog. If you read every article and comment you'd have to give up your daytime job, but some of the commenters are almost as insightful as CR and Tanta.

I tend to skim them though because of the massive amount of content, otherwise, I follow: you, Lander, Bakersfield Bubble, Exurban Nation, Housing Bubble, Patrick.net, Housing Wire, Kunstler's CFN (socially acceptable abbreviation of his blog name), bloomberg, Mogambo Guru, and uh...others. Not everyday, but as often as I can find time or I find myself faced with insomnia...sigh.

Gwyn - what's the deal with Etsy? I just discovered that site the other day while looking for case study'ish furniture. Is there any cool stuff there?

I was wondering about how people keep up with the comments on the national blogs, cause there are just so many of them.

Thanks for all the suggestions, now that I have figured out how to do the feedburner I am able to follow more sites.

I like Etsy because it lets me put my protectionist leanings where my mouth is. It's part of the Handmade 2.0 movement which is very popular with the younger set. The New Yorks Times covered it a while back.

It's impossible to keep up with the comments anymore (especially when you run your own blog). However, keeping up with blog posts is much easier when using a feed reader such as Google Reader. Google Reader has the look and feel of Gmail and is pretty easy to use.

A reader is especially useful for keeping track of blogs that only post occasionally, as you don't have to keep going back to the site and feeling disappointed when there is nothing new.
